I can only speak for myself here when I say on the radio I have no fear playing a song by a new artist. If I like it & I think it’s hot it will get played & I will make sure it get’s the proper talk up it deserves.
Saying that, all the DJ’s on 1Xtra with a specialist show have no fear in breaking new artists …it’s what we’re hired to do. Even saying that the actual 1Xtra playlist is full of new music other stations are afraid to playlist (No Choice)
